9:00 AM: Our new San Francisco Alcatraz combo tour is daily available as a private or as a semi-private guided tour by 4X4 SUV or by a luxury 14-passanger limousine van. You will enjoy 4 to 5 hour personalized and guided tours before you embark on Alcatraz cruise ship to visit the legendary Alcatraz Island.
First Part of the Tour: You will first enjoy four to a five full hour guided city tour to explore San Francisco famous and infamous sights and monuments including
the Golden Gate Bridge and surrounding scenic hills, the historic Palace of Fine Arts, the Golden Gate Park, Haight-Ashbury district, the spectacular Twin Peaks, the "Painted Ladies" Victorian homes and Alamo Square, Civic Center, the Union Square, Chinatown, Nob Hill, Lombard Street, Telegraph Hill and Coit Tower, Legion of Honor, Marina District, North Beach "Little Italy", Baker Beach, Ocean Beach, the Historic Presidio, Pacific Heights, Inspiration Point, Ghirardelli Square , the Fisherman's Wharf and much more.
We offer this 4 to 5 hour guided tour by 4X4 SUV conducted by licensed and passionate tour guides. Unlike bus and van tours, our SUV tour is not restricted to any district in San Francisco.
1:30 pm: The Second Part of the Tour: Our tour guide will now escort you after your exciting San Francisco tour to Alcatraz cruise terminal on Pier 33, and assist you and check you in on the scheduled cruise to Alcatraz Island. In Alcatraz, you can stay as long as you wish on the beautiful Island and then explore the beautiful Fisherman's Wharf area after Alcatraz tour and return to your hotel on your own.
Alcatraz cruise terminal is located within the Fisherman's Wharf, few blocks from the famous Pier 39. This district is a very popular and a family friendly neighborhood. The Fisherman's Wharf is home to sidewalk seafood vendors, shopping boutiques, stores, the Wax Museum, San Francisco Aquarium, Boudin Bakery and Museum, the Rainforest Cafe , the "Musée Mécanique", the Maritime Museum and park, 2 lines of Cable Cars, Hard Rock Café, the famous chocolate factory called Ghirardelli Square, great hotels with views of San Francisco Bay. You may consider staying at one of these hotels in the Fisherman's Wharf area away from the crowded San Francisco downtown. This also allows you to walk back to your hotel from Alcatraz cruise terminal rather than driving or taking public transportation to return to your hotel saving you money and time.

2:30 PM – 5:00 PM Sail to Alcatraz Island and enjoy a 2 to 3 hour the award-winning self-guided tour: Alcatraz cruise ship will take you around Alcatraz Island where you will enjoy splendid views of San Francisco Bay and bridges like the Golden Gate Bridge. The ferry ride is also a great picture opportunity for snapping photos of all San Francisco bay and islands from the heart of the Bay located between the Golden Gate Bridge and the Bay Bridge. Once you disembark from Alcatraz cruise ship at Alcatraz Island, please take advantage of the national park rangers' talk and general overview of the former prison covering the Island. Don't forget your Alcatraz Island award-winning Cell House (an excellent audio self-guided tour) that will narrate and reveal the mysterious stories of those inmates who lived on Alcatraz Island during the Federal Penitentiary Era. The audio tour is totally worth listening to. Not only you get a full experience but you will also learn more about the history coming from actual correctional officers and former inmates of Alcatraz Island. The audio tour to the notorious former federal penitentiary is available in 8 languages including English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, Dutch and Mandarin.
Note: : - Please note that most of Alcatraz is steep and hilly, so be prepared for walking long distances uphill and downhill. The distance from the dock to the prison at the top of the island is about 1/4 mile (0.4 km) and the elevation change is 130 feet (40 meters). This is roughly equivalent to climbing a thirteen story building, but spread out over 1/4 mile.
- Visitors unable to make the climb up Alcatraz's steep stairs uphill due to mobility needs can actually take advantage of the an electric shuttle that runs twice an hour from the dock to the prison building, and twice an hour from the prison to the dock. The tram cannot stop on the hill; boarding is only at the dock and the cell house. Boarding is available on a first come, first served basis and may accommodate some wheelchair users. Only those individuals with mobility or physical needs may ride the shuttle. Please note that there are no wheelchairs available for loan on Alcatraz Island. Unfortunately, our own vehicles are not equipped for wheelchair users either.
- It's extremely hard for us to get tickets to Alcatraz Island particularly during the peak season from March through October. We require 8 weeks minimum reservation prior to your tour. Please send us a Travel Request before you book our San Francisco-Alcatraz combo tour during the peak season so we assist you in the best way and ensure the required tour and date are available.
Also, as all other Tour Operators, we are not allowed to sell individual tickets to Alcatraz Island without combining Alcatraz with our City Tour. If you are simply looking for individual tickets to Alcatraz, please contact www.alcatrazcruises.com

Our 8 and 10 passenger Limousine and or limousine vans that take up to 14 persons cost $ 129 per hour + 20% for Tax and Gratuity. 5 hours minimum is required per service in San Francisco. Each additional hour will cost $ 139 + tax. For stretch Limousines, bus charter and van tours, please send us a Travel Request with the required information including your budget for each service and we will take care of the rest! Please fill out the credit card information under section "Step 2-Cardholder Information".
- Please check your email you entered on our reservation form to get our merchant receipt, generated ONLY when transactions are approved! We will also send you a tour voucher confirming your tour, date and pick up time if your transaction is approved and based on availability. We will fully refund your transaction if the required tour or date is not available.
